To obtain the PECB CISO designation, every candidate must successfully complete the official PECB Chief Information Security Officer exam and commit to signing the PECB Code of Ethics.
Based on your professional history and leadership background, you may qualify for one of the following two credential levels:
1. Information Security Officer

Target Profile: Entry-to-mid-level security professionals or managers who have passed the exam but have not yet accumulated the long-term executive experience necessary for the Chief title.
2. Chief Information Security Officer

Credential Title: PECB Certified Chief Information Security Officer

Required Professional Experience: Five years of total professional experience, including at least two years specifically focused on information security.

CISO Management System Project Experience: A minimum of 300 hours of documented project activities.
