Microsoft Power Platform Developer (PL-400) Training Course

This course provides a foundational understanding of the core principles behind Power Virtual Agents, Power Automate, and Power Apps, with a brief overview of Power BI. The curriculum is structured around a real-world process I previously executed manually for a former employer. Participants will build a Power App using Microsoft Power Apps to monitor construction tasks for homes under development (with data stored in SharePoint for simplicity). We will then leverage Power Virtual Agents to demonstrate how to enable bots within Microsoft Teams, guiding users to locate documents dispersed across various SharePoint sites, such as loan agreements, budgets, and sales contracts (used as examples throughout the course). I observe significant potential for these bots within HR and IT departments to address repetitive inquiries efficiently. Furthermore, the course illustrates how to configure simple flows in Power Automate to save attachments from specific senders (in our example, inspection reports organized by the bank for the units) and set up other straightforward flows to save data from Microsoft Forms back to SharePoint. We will also explore building fully automated workflows using the Approvals app within Microsoft Teams. After completing the app, bot, and flow components, the final step involves creating a straightforward Power BI report. We will use Power Automate to send a snapshot of the table containing the most recently completed tasks every two weeks to a designated recipient (the bank in this example). This report will request a drawdown, including the task completion dates and associated budget amounts (all data collected via the app). Finally, while this course maintains a high-level perspective, I recommend that learners utilize ChatGPT for more technical aspects, such as coding elements or formulas in Power Apps. However, the course does cover this topic, demonstrating how to effectively use ChatGPT to assist with Power Apps formulas.
